The WoodFisch family eats dinner at this coffee table. But where to keep the napkins and the remotes? Why not build a holder for them?
The four posts are leg cutoffs from when the table was cut down.

Two walnut live edge slabs, 4” thick. Carpenter ants consumed an area in the middle. Had to evacuate the ants with insecticide. Then let the slabs air out for a month. The slabs were flattened down to 3” thick via the router sled. The carpenter ant damage was filled in with epoxy resin. The remaining material was milled to use for the legs and shelf. Pieces were joined together using the Festool Domino. Large dominos for the table and legs. Small dominos for the shelf. Finish is five coats of matte Waterlox tung oil.

Much resawing was required to mill down the pieces needed for this cabinet. I had wanted to build a corner cabinet since I saw one in a 1700’s house in Harpers Ferry about thirty years ago. Since our house has very little available space for this cabinet, it needed to be small. It resides in a Living Room corner.

This table resides next to the Woodfisch’s favorite chair. When seated there, a feeling of laziness overcomes the Woodfisch, which requires that the TV remote and drink glass all be within easy reach.

Sewing table
Needed – an inspiring space to sew. But where? In the closet, of course. Good thing this closet is large and has a window.
